It's hard to lose a site we love, and to feel like we're losing a community along with it. But we don't have to—even without the website, we can come together, celebrate what it brought to our lives, and plan how to bring that ethos and that community forward with us!

first off: make them masked. that’s not part of the trick it’s just not being an asshole

but the trick is you just do it. you put out the info anyway you can— social media, flyers, making your friends tell their friends— and then

and this is the important part (well it’s all important but “just do it” isn’t a trick it’s common knowledge)

then you mentally prepare yourself for no one showing up. don’t get me wrong. ppl will probably show up. it’s happened almost anytime i put something on and actually put it out there. but you gotta be prepared for it to be a bust the first couple of times bc you have to keep doing it consistently.

that’s how ppl show up, bc ppl’s lives are messy, sometimes they don’t find out until the day after, sometimes they just wanna make sure it’s not another thing they’ll go to that collapses after the first time.

but if you keep doing it, word will get around. you’ll get regulars. you’ll make friends. you just have to risk it for a bit.

and hey, maybe it won’t work out. but the thing is, once you’ve tried, you’ll know how easy it is to do, and next time you want to do something different, it’ll be a little easier. and maybe that’s the one that’ll catch on like wildfire. that’s how this shit goes sometime

but odds are it won’t! and if you prepared yourself for it? you’ll be thrilled at how many ppl actually ARE interested
