autismo post of the day

i'm making a little booklet of tasks and activities (dishes, laundry, exercise, etc) and breaking down the steps and patterns to each that i always practice so i don't have to manually operationalize each time which adds a level of fatigue and paralysis if i feel like i can't figure out the steps of how to do the thing

helped today to refer back to the going outside steps i listed. i was feeling some inertia even though i'd already completed most of the steps then referred to the remain steps and that helped me continue

also in terms of gear switching from one task to another, my thinking is that it helps to have a physical stimulus like a piece of clothing or a podcast that moves me from one task to another, ie apron=art time or this one podcast=dishes

in my booklet i also have little reminders like "prioritize comfort or most frequently used items" or "if this feels hard, ask person to be your accountability partner" or "only commit to 10 mins if it feels more manageable"
