Zachary Schomburg’s “Scary, No Scary” is a foundational pillar in my relationship with my partner
Mary Oliver’s American Primitive. I’ve shared a few poems from it, and it hits so hard. In the same vein, I read Annie Dillard’s Pilgrim at Tinker Creek like poetry more than prose. Both tie human behavior and society back to nature, ground it, and illuminate God in midst of that weaving. I also love Czeslaw Milosz’s Second Space. WS Merwin holds a special place in my heart, too, but I don’t have any of his collections.
