some of my favorites from inktober 2019. you can view all of my pieces from that here

thoughts

this inktober 2019 contains some of my favorite stuff I've ever made.

around this time, I was able to fill out sketchbooks a lot better. I felt like I discovered a method that worked for me, that allowed me to draw loosely and freely and express myself, without too much worrying about perfection. I wanted to try emulating the process that I did in my sketchbook digitally and decided inktober would be the time. I'd like to share my sketchbook one day; I've been meaning to.

I have no idea how I was able to maintain so much energy for it. if I recall correctly, I'm certain that I had a mountain of responsibilities and I was still recovering from an injury during this time. I distinctly recall knowing that I was doing this during an extremely overloaded month for me but I was pumped and decided that I was ready for a challenge and did it anyway.

2019 me was a different beast. and then the year after 2019 happened, which was, to put it lightly, less than pleasant.

I'd like to channel this energy again someday.

These remind me of postcards, the third especially (format and I guess and the balloons in the third one).
They would do banging postcards.
I mean it in the nicest way possible, I hope you don't mind. Of course I would also see it as illustrations in a book or posters, they are great pieces in general !
