of all the just common everyday things across the world, grocery stores, parks, highways, what have you there’s something really different about pharmacies in the us vs pharmacies in other parts of the world, like a CVS or RiteAid or what have you is a considerably different vibe than a pharmacy in chile or france or bulgaria like the vibe in these pharmacies are all more consistent with one another than whatever is going on in the us pharmacies which feels distinct maybe cause they often just feel like stores with a hidden pharmacy section in the back whereas the centrality of the pharmacy aspect in other countries doesn’t seem to feel like it’s hiding that it’s a place you get medicine and medical care items?

can someone confirm this feeling like the more i write this the more unhinged i feel

the design of an american pharmacy, CVS or walgreens or whatever in my experience you go in the store and you are in a makeup section almost immediately, turn and maybe you can print some photos, turn and maybe you can get some groceries, beverages, some holiday decorations, you wander around and the store treats you like a consumer, you need more stuff well here it is, you wonder if the seen on tv section has anything to offer, maybe eventually you find your way towards the supplements aisle then you might find some people you give your prescription to and you get your medicine or whatever you need, you see whether or not insurance deigns to support you being a person in a body today or not. the store treats you like a consumer, not a human being with needs.

design of other non-US pharmacies i’ve been to: you enter a small space that has many modules protected by a screen, pharmacists are there to talk to you about what you need and help you find it, sometimes if you don’t have a prescription it’s not a problem they’ll get you the medication you need anyway and might offer you the cheaper bio equivalent. the store is there to help you keep your biological processes functioning.

i've only been there once for precisely this reason. if they'll go to all of that trouble just to get you lost why the fuck would you trust a single thing they produce. and like have you seen the quality of their products? i feel justified in my thoughts here. furthermore capitalism must be destroyed. bleh.
