got o hell

So many sites have had this exact page lately.

If you want me to disable my adblocker, how about you stop it with the billions of ads getting in the way of EVERYTHING

Sometimes I feel like the internet is a wasteland of ads, trackers and shitty apps forced down your throat, with a few little oasis's where you don't need an adblocker to simply exist there (cohost)

I hate downloading apps for shit because I can't block the ads that will inevitably be forced upon me. The ads on twitter are getting ridiculous, for example. I have YouTube revanced plus sponsor block on my phone because yt ads were getting way too invasive.

I stopped playing phone games because, you guessed it, ads! Even games that didn't have them 8-10 years are go are loaded with them now.

I don't want your shitty product or service, stop forcing it Infront of me.

The internet really is more comfortable with a desktop browser and a good adblocker

While it's true that Google's monopolization of information has lead to decreased traffic to actual sites, I think a major factor is also that when I do go to the websites they're full of ads.

Remember how we used to joke about recipe blogs being full of life stories?

Well as bad as that was, I prefer that to the modern format of "One sentence ADVERTISEMENT another sentence ADVERTISEMENT" repeated seven or 8 times until you get to the recipe itself - and half the time if you scroll slightly too far there's even more ads.

With a good adblocker half the sites don't work or just have vast wastelands of dead space. I don't browse websites anymore unless someone I trust has sent it to me and I've confirmed they actually sent it, as opposed to some bot hijacking their account and sending a malicious link.

When I have to look something up I add Reddit at the end to get actual replies even if at least a quarter of the time those are also disguised advertisments.

I hate it. I miss when visiting a website I'd only encounter a couple advertisements at most. I miss when I could scroll entirely new pages just reading what was there. I miss the pre fandom days of browsing wikis. I miss BBS forums and just...urgh I hate what the internet has become.
