(from 54 - in season 1!), and I'm quite enjoying it.
It wants you to believe that there is such a thing as a righteous ruler - which: lmao - but I like watching hyper-competent, inscrutable people scheming their way towards their personal idea of justice. (Others have already commented on the similarities - and differences - with The Count of Monte Cristo)
I've recently read Qiang Jin Jiu, which is a story in a similar vein, just with more gay sex, and Nirvana in Fire scratches the itch it left behind.
It will probably take me several months to finish though, as there are 50 more episodes in season 2. Maybe I'll be done when season 3 drops in 2024...
