Inspired directly by @starwars-characters, follow @onepiece-characters for a new weirdo every day. Non-canon characters (eg anime-only, live shows, etc) are included but only 1/10th as likely to come up. As of this writing, the total pool of possible characters is over 3000.

This one's code depends on page-scraping from a fan wiki - whose name I won't mention so as to avoid the wrath of a certain SEO empire, even though it's only doing two page accesses per day. But that does mean it might break if the wiki frontend I'm accessing it through makes a dramatic change to their HTML.

Well I'm currently obsessed with it obviously, haha, so of course I would say yes. Specifically I'd recommend reading the manga by far the most highly, but if it's anime or nothin' then One Pace is a superior fan edit of the anime that more closely follows the manga and gets rid of the filler.

It's a pirate adventure, set in a fantasy ocean world, about an endearing goofus and the crew he assembles to become King of the Pirates, that gradually grows more epic and intricate as it goes along. It's been running for over 25 years now, over 1000 chapters (and maybe 200 more until it wraps up? only Oda knows), so it's not a light undertaking. But I've found it well worth the journey and can't wait to see how it ends.

one piece (lol) of advice i have is to have the bot not post directly into the tag for the media it's posting about. i ended up removing the star wars tag from my bot's posts since it was extremely spammy. sure people can silence or block the bot, but there are a lot of people that still want to see the bot's posts through their main feed or otherwise, but dont want to see the botspam when browsing the media's tag directly

hmm, yeah i thought about this and determined that one post a day (my preferred bot posting frequency) isn't so high volume it'd feel spammy. but if you and others feel that still is, i can kill its usage of that tag.
