Room - Wishing Well
The next room is very normal. It's generously sized, relatively dry, and a great candidate for the Caves Quarterly centerfold. Doddot is immediately wary.
With due caution, she slips through the cavern, keeping a careful eye on a large depression in one of the walls. It quickly reveals itself to be a hewn alcove, signs of former inhabitants. The back wall is a web of black cords unlike anything Doddot's seen before.
They clench - a giant mouth opens wide. Doddot tumbles out of the way of the giant tongue slumps out, sweeping the cavern floor searchingly. Giant teeth, each the size of a dwarf, flash past and sink into the cavern wall. From the gums, the black tendrils creep along the walls and floor, eventually tapering off like muscular roots.
The tongue comes to a stop, surrounded by a fan of its own frothy spittle. It seems... despondent.
With appropriate caution, Doddot flips a coin onto it. It curls immediately inward, coin vanishing into black gullet.
An eldritch belch follows, heavy with the ozone scent of magic. Doddot's eyes water. If that's what it does with one coin, what'd a whole mouthful bring up?
The tongue lolls out again.
This time, it waits patiently.

World Notes
- Doddot Dimorc - The ostensible protagonist mining the caves beneath her family hold. A bit dim herself.
- Hamgard - The chef! He's never been a chef before, but he's figuring it out quickly.
- Sandwich - Doddot's gross white cat, hatchling of the Pawtral magical room. He accompanies Doddot on her adventures.
