all of you is interfaced. we can all sit and think about what ontologically makes us, but between that you must interface. Between what is "you" and what is "other" there are layers of interface.
This interface is something you must design. It is in the nature of all of us to design and create and maintain this interface. Much comes naturally. Much comes as a product of your loved ones, upbringing, friends, circles, and the entire world around you. The products of the interfaces of others will teach you how to modify your own interface.
Of course, this is just one way of thinking, but I think its a worthwhile thing to consider.
Reading discussion about "caard culture" or "tumblr-era kinning" is always a bit frustrating - we can talk all day about the havoc that the internet and capitalism has wrought on the concept of the self and how we perceive ourselves and each others (and we definitely are talking a lot about that! great!) - but I encourage you to be kind to the people building and making their interfaces in spite of it all. the kinnies will not hurt you. they are offering you a window into themselves. an interface for you to see and connect with. To understand, describe, and present the self is difficult. Using the modern tools, knowledge, media, and world around us to attempt to do so is only natural and, in my opinion, nothing but a good thing.
