larger forces never had any right to moderate your self-expression anyway. we have no responsibility to be normative. and I mean, what if it is a social contagion? that’s actually pretty cool, and it’s a natural emergent consequence of people just being people with each other. it doesn’t have to mean a thing about the validity of your own personal lived experience. I say the smiles are enough, and I’m so glad you get them.
I’ve been turning this over for a while now, and I think I like it: we are the stories we tell ourselves. objective truth is always a pale shadow of subjective truth, which needs no support from things like facts or scientific principles like reproducibility. so what if it’s only true to you, heck even just the you that you happen to be at a given moment? who else does it need to be true for? what other source of truth deserves jurisdiction in your own mind?
These people also think that labor unions and thinking that you deserve weekends off are also a social contagion so like. you know. fuck 'em. As if seeing someone else have a good idea being inspiration for wanting to do the same is somehow a valid counter-argument, as if the only legitimate way to be trans would be if you re-invented the idea in a vacuum.
Fuck 'em.
