we don't really have the genre of ostensibly single-player games with weird tacked-on multiplayer modes that ended up being way better than the main game anymore. mass effect 3 and assassin's creed brotherhood might not be enough to comprise a genre but whatever
I miss the 7th gen for a lot of reasons but a huge part of it was that everything had multiplayer.
It was often bad but usually it was interesting, and I find it even more interesting now that even the games that haven’t been shutdown are basically unplayable without manually rounding up willing participants off-platform.
I love playing old multiplayer that nobody’s thought about in years!! I live for it!
