what do you think you'll gain from adding a vulkan backend? is it just to be able to add vulkan to your resume (which is a fine reason)
frankly i just enjoy working with Vulkan a hell of a lot more than OpenGL - despite the complexity, it's also wayyyy more transparent. but also yes having modern stuff on my resume looks nice too :P
Yeah, makes sense. Just asking cuz I had a period where I wanted to add a vulkan backend to my renderer, which I never got around to because . Maybe I’ll give that another shot sometime.
I also did some work on OpenGL drivers for an internship which did help convince me that there are still use cases for GL, especially when the focus is more on end results/dev speed than the development itself. But that’s often not the case for personal projects, especially renderers.
