today's xkcd included a map of the Lagrange points, which I learned of when watching Gundam. But two things I didn't learn when I watched Gundam are that

1. Side 7, where the story starts, where Amuro is from, where the Federation is building the Gundam in secret, is located at L3, the furthest from Earth, orbiting the Sun from a position directly opposite, like so many Hidden Planets in so much scifi
2. Side 7 is also known as Noa, and now I wonder if Bright Noa is the son of some colony bigwig
