I'm considering just watching all the cutscenes from XC3, because I don't have over a hundred hours to spend on a (probably really good but not 100% my thing in gameplay terms?) video game, ahaha.
(I'm aware that the main game + the new DLC is over twenty hours of cutscenes.)
would recommend sitting down with a watch through of 1 before 3. The base game of 3 could be understood on its own without having played through either of the first two, 95%, but you'd be missing meta narrative, knowing what questions you SHOULD be asking.
The DLC on the other hand, is completely reliant on earlier works. I fully agree with everything Jackie-dot-cringe says
They kept the original audio, so Definitive would be the way to go.
