Hey, you, who's reading this in the future: you can find out who I am today at https://rarf.zone/about/. ๐
And it changes files that aren't just the web browser?
This update nukes p.much all the known entry points except for one that is unpatchable but requires out-of-production flash cards to leverage
keepin' an eye on GBATemp, they're mentioning at least one, possibly multiple exploits have been blocked.
I'm not even sure what is in it for Nintendo to push 3DS updates at this point, to fuck over its homebrew scene once and for all?
Why are they releasing updates for a console that they closed the shop for, fuck you nintendo
no hang on I'm going to make a proper complain about this
they patched bannerbomb3 it's wild. this shit's managed to drag me back into the 3ds scene after almost half a decade of being out of it
...why!? if they are willing to provide this tiniest bit of post-mortem support why not at least allow download of already-bought games!?
this update is literally just disabling homebrew. this is the opposite of post-mortem support, it's double tapping the corpse's forehead again "just to make sure"
just to make sure nobody pirates any games on the console that they no longer sell or sell games for ๐
Is it possible to jailbreak a 3DS without losing current game data? Would I be better off buying a separate 3DS and hacking that instead?
Thanks! Last time I looked into it that wasn't the case, but that was like 5 years ago lol
Fully at "I had no intention of hacking my 3DS but I will do it out of spite now"
i only hacked my 2ds like a week ago, i'm glad i got in under the wire
[phin] Okay, looks like itโs time for us to try and figure out how to hack our 2DS.
...this should be illegal, come on nintendo you have flat-out refused to make any more money from this, why the fuck do you want to prevent others from using the devices they already bought now that you let them rot
another comment, i get a strange feeling nintendo is locking down the 3ds to ensure a virtual console release can safely (1) exist and (2) be way too expensive
