Oh, yeah, there's… …at least eleven posts I could do about worker protections! But I'd probably do a post that concentrates on BC, with comparisons to other provinces (and federal labour laws, which basically only apply to federally-regulated industries) throughout.

As for tasty torts β€” we're inventing new torts at a decent rate up here, so!!

are there any conservatorship or similar "we've determined you have no rights on account of we think ur crazy" laws i should worry about that may make seeking diagnosis a potential vector of harm from others? it's something i worry about a lot.

This is not legal advice. I am not yet qualified to practice as a lawyer, and even once I am qualified, that qualification will not apply in your province.

Saskatchewan does have "adult guardianships", yes. However, looking at the requirements for getting one (https://www.saskatchewan.ca/residents/justice-crime-and-the-law/power-of-attorney-guardianship-and-trusts/guardianship-and-co-decision-making-for-dependent-adults/apply-for-adult-guardianship), I would be surprised if a diagnosis alone suffices? It requires an application to the Court of King's Bench, supported by two assessments by qualified professionals.
