It's kinda amazing how long it took me to find out the correct way of parsing "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV"? I thought he was calling himself "Burning Star IV", not telling a dog named Apollo that he's going to burn Star IV.

That's what I get for not reading the comics that more or less correspond to and explain the albums. gjdhfjdhdj

(Also, "this is a story within a story written by someone who's clearly a hack, among other things" is a great framing device for such… campy? sci-fi as The Amory Wars. The Vaxis arc breaking from the Oh Yeah These Planets Are Weirdly Similar To The Mid-'00s US vibe of everything before [spoilers] also makes a lot of sense in-universe, based on plot points that were already canon a decade before The Unheavenly Creatures came out.)

But yeah. I'm totally on a tangent now, but clearly, the actual execution of an artistic project is probably more important than the nitty-gritty of the world that story is told in, I guess? Space New Jersey, Also Normal Physics Doesn't Apply And Virology Doesn't Fucking Work Like That Also The Protagonist Is The Author's Self-Insert As An Edgy Grimdark Messianic Figure can still be a used as a great setting for some really compelling storytelling and fantastic music.
