sophistipop! this very 80s jazz influenced pop that came out of england, often with more clever or introspective lyrics. prefab sprout were also produced by Thomas Dolby (yes, the "She Blinded Me With Science" guy) to perfection. Some favorites to follow: Bonny, from Steve McQueen (1985)
