No. 4 looks like a movie set or diorama, I think it's the out of focus foreground. Looks very cool and I love it.
All of these recent snow posts from Yosemite have given me a STRONG urge to go visit the valley in winter
It’s amazing!! Just such a beautiful and chill vibe. I had never been in the winter before and didn’t know what to expect but it was stunning
How much of the infrastructure was open? Were they still running the shuttle? Many of the hiking paths would definitely be beyond my ability in the snow but I would love to gawk up at it all in wonder
Shuttle was still running, I think it runs year round, but less frequently in the off season. When I was there, I had great luck using the shuttle and never waited long but will say that could change deeper into winter and colder weather. And there are less food options open. Paved paths in the valley had mostly been cleared following the snowstorm so I was able to do a lot of walking around on the valley floor while I was there. There was some ice out on those paths but nothing felt majorly sketchy to walk on. I didn’t do any serious hiking but the trails to little Yosemite falls and mirror lake were clear & while I didn’t have a chance to do it, I believe that was also true of the trail to the base of vernal falls.
