hey film chosters! I’ve been having a lot of fun trying out shooting in b&w and would like to do more of it. So far I’ve only tried ilford hp5+ for that purpose so I wanted to see if anyone had any recs on other b&w film stocks to try out! I haven’t done a ton of exploring on that since, to my extremely new to this eye, the differences between different b&w film stocks are less immediately apparent than color stocks so would love to pick your brains to see what I should try out

For low light I'll use the tmax 3200 or Ilford delta 3200, for variable conditions I use tmax 400 or hp5. Or Tri-x if I want really high contrast. But I'm not terribly experienced either, especially with the more professional rolls

I think Acros II from Fujifilm is really great, I love how fine the grain is, and it somehow looks classic but modern. T-MAX 400 from Kodak is great for a contrasty look, and if you want something super dramatic, consider JCH (Japan Camera Hunter) 400. I use this for street shots where I want the shadows to be super punchy!
