Still in my intro only era.
Constructor
Extra info reward: My copy came with a free branded memory card, because this game takes up every block and still struggles with memory.
is another PlayStation 1 classic. A management builder that's rarely ever been replicated, where you build up your community of miscreants and use them to cause mayhem in rival areas. Its claim to fame is some of the most iconic sound work in any video game; instantly recognizable SFX.

They remastered Constructor a few years ago, but a) they cleaned it up in a way that lessens the fitting grime and b) they just dropped it with no fanfare for €20. A niche thing like this really needed a little more love. I doubt many people know it exists.

I played the original Constructor as a kid, and then put a lot of hours into the remaster a couple of years ago. There's so much to it that I still didn't play it all. It is one of those distinctively British games that arguably couldn't have been made anywhere else. It's quite amazing that System 3 (just about) still exist - given that they were founded in 1982, they must be one of the older extant developers.

Some elements of the game feel quite fussy and awkward to control (upgrading residences and deploying undesirables, for example), but it is still a real hour-eater and quite unlike anything else.
