the text, properly understood, contains everything - not merely everything needed to understand itself, but everything - that is, the universe
to employ any theory or context to a text is still, therefore, within the boundaries of the text. there is nothing but the text, and all things emnate from it. to bring "external" sources to bear on the text is truly to bring forth articulations of the text's pre-existing nascent potentialities. whether these obscure and tertiary features of the text are worthy instruments through which to frame the entirety of the text is still a matter up to debate.
