I'm watching my gf play Dark Souls for the first time, and it has been a wild ride. Through her fresh new perspective, I've been able to learn something about Fromsoft's design that I'd never realized before, and I'm convinced it's a key factor in what makes their games so special.

This! Yes! We've gotten a friend to start playing Dark Souls 1 and it's been really interesting to watch them play. It makes us reminisce about our memory of first going through the series.

It's really a shame that Dark Souls in the public eye has been reduced to "git gud" and OHKO hornet ring parry baiting, because a lot of the charm for us has always been the games' inherent mysteriousity.
