this whole opening scene that establishes the setting & characters and has been going on for 15 pages is the reading of the will of the late father and business owner. the whole way through the POV is pinging between the three people in the room which is pretty disorienting
i hate it when in historical fiction adult children address their parents by the informal you in hungarian. this simply never happened. even my parents generation spoke to their parents using the formal you. ofc in modern translations they dgaf it seems. but when they do get it right, i am glad of it. for example, i watched the vvitch a while ago, and in the dub they seem to be very faithful to the time period, including this pet peeve of mine, lol.
