I dislike it when it/its pronouns are used in an objectifying way for me. I am not an object. I am It in the same way you don't bother to check the gender of the tiger stalking behind you, you just shout "Run, it's right behind me!"

our headmate borrowed the description of itself from somewhere as "it/its, in the tone of 'OH GODS! IT'S COMING! IT WILL DESTROY US ALL!'"
Ooh. I have a couple friends who do actually go by it/its in the object sense so I hadn't thought about it that way. Thank you, now I can keep this in mind.
