Now I’ve already played signalis and it is very inspired by silent hill 2, in fact signalis probably wouldn’t exist without silent hill 2. So it was really cool playing silent hill 2 both for the experience of playing the game myself and also seeing tons of the ways that it influenced signalis that I hadn’t heard others mention before.

Like in sh2 james is searching for Mary but then he meets Maria who looks very similar to Mary to the point even James gets confused and at the end of the game Maria disguises herself as Mary (or it could also be an illusion James is seeing idk).
This seems like it was probably the inspiration behind alina and ariane in signalis who Elster also gets confused with remembering correctly.
But probably the main thing silent hill 2 has that I feel signalis is missing would be a joke ending cause silent hill 2 has 2 joke endings and their both hilarious the dog ending and the ufo ending and I really wish signalis had a secret joke ending like that cause I think the signalis devs could make something really funny. That would be something I would love from a future signalis update maybe.
