i mentioned this on my tumblr but right now im sitting in the back of my coworker’s car, speeding down the highway to a work seminar, passing a blunt around. as much as foodservice is stressful as hell and im quitting soon, im gonna miss these kinds of moments.
the first time i smoked weed was at 2am outside the store after a late night cleaning marathon, my assistant manager passed me the joint. later one of my shift leads taught me how to make a geeb.
and to think in a couple years my professional vibe will actually be professional.
finally going to see pvris tonight!! several of their older songs are super important to me but i havent heard much of their new stuff... v excited cannot wait :D
zucchini and summer squash, sliced into thin rounds
onion, sliced thin
garlic
bacon
fresh basil
salt/pepper to taste
so the trick with this is to cook the squash for a super long time to get the moisture out and caramelize everything. cook the bacon and leave the fat in the pan, supplement with butter or olive oil if needed. toss in the squash and salt heavily, once starting to get translucent add the onions and garlic. you want everything to get browned and jammy, it will probably take longer than you think. dont go above medium heat or they will brown before they soften. once its done crumble in the bacon and tear up some fresh basil. its super simple and the perfect summer side dish and i love it sm!!
