sometimes i see a post on the Internet or one of my friends will show me something that reminds me that, no, furries aren't immune to consumerism and capitalist shit. id probably argue we are even particularly susceptible to that kind of ideology, as capital and capitalism becomes more and more deterritorialized away from prudish shit. it just shows itself as coming from the inside or something that doesn't really matter, like an independent artist being sponsored by Amazon or getting a deal with a hotel or the replies of a post being filled with corp accounts that seem a bit uncomfortably familiar with the commissioning process. we aren't any more safe from the encroachment of capital than anything else is. fight it where you see it, if you can at all.
