tetris night light

years ago my wife bought this rad tetris night light, officially licensed and all. it was tetromino blocks with metal edges that you can stack however you want. the bottom-most 4x1 block also supplied power from an adapter. great concept, terrible execution by the manufacturer, Paladone. the contacts within got worse and worse until nothing worked anymore.

so i emailed them--like 5 years after we bought it--and said can you get me a replacement. they said sorry we don't make that anymore, but instead just up and sent me a sick minecraft blocks light instead. no charge, free shipping. wow

a parking ticket

i did a boneheaded thing today and got a parking ticket cause i walked away and forgot to pay. wow, oops. so i filed a "dispute" and said sorry, i got flustered finding parking and forgot to pay (true). they said ok and reduced the ticket by half. also wow
