I'm Indian and so naturally my mom farmed out tea making to me. Is this "authentic"? I dunno. It's what my mom drank every day of my childhood, as far as I can remember. i actually liked it, and i don't like tea generally. it's probably because of the sugar.

  1. Add about a mug-worth of whole milk to a saucepan
  2. Turn the range on high heat
  3. Add 2 lipton tea bags into the milk. yes, i do mean the extremely standard yellow box
  4. Finagle the string so that the bags are tethered to the handle. Maybe this step is optional
  5. Add 2 big tablespoons of sugar
  6. Boil the milk. Be really careful as it gets to the point of overflowing because that will happen in the span of like 4 seconds.
  7. Just as it's about to boil over, turn off the heat and blow on it to keep it from overflowing.
  8. At this point and actually throughout the process, use a spoon to gently press the tea bags against the side of the pan, squeezing out tea flavor without breaking the bags. This step might also be optional but I was like 10, ok?
  9. Pour it into a mug and enjoy
