  1. markdown specifically says that you can make an "ordered list" by starting a ~list~ with numbers. three lines with "8.", "1.", and "3." are syntactically valid and will produce a list with 1, 2, and 3
  2. discord helpfully decides that any line in the form of "number, period, space, text" is an ordered list, and will treat the number as the first number of the list, unless it's over 50, in which case it's capped at 50
  3. two different pieces of shitty technology combining and turning into a bigger, shittier mess

I really hate this modern trend of changing what the user wrote because you think you know better than the user
I sometimes index pages with a page 0 and page 00 in my manga translations. my work processor "helpfully" changes 00 to 0. I have no idea how to turn this feature off.
