more thoughts about this annoying thing of media purity combined with a legitimate problem it fails to solve
four things are true:
- there exists media whose creators are irredeemable shite
- sometimes this quality extends to their work, making it irredeemable
- you shouldn't be a cop about if someone likes "irredeemable media", especially when it comes to policing people being friends with someone who does enjoy it, BUT
- if the author does demonstrable harm and your consumption of media supports them, maybe reconsider, and don't be surprised if you lose friends because you like harry potter
