If you need a CRT filter to get that feeling back again, great! Or maybe only a physical CRT will do? Or maybe you're fine with nearest neighbor 4x on a jail broken iPhone.
It really doesn't matter whether it's accurate or not, accuracy only matters if it helps you get that feeling or in the context of preservation.
How many times have you found out you were wrong about something you remembered from a game you played as a kid? Doesn't matter! Even that flawed memory is still cool and rad and valuable! Treasure it! Stop comparing it to others or to reality! Games are cool!
