Good morning, fuzzies! Happy Tuesday! It’s not morning at all, but one of us appears to be sick so, you know… who knows? It’s pretty close to being morning, I think? Sure :3 I hope that you’re having a good week, and that you’re staying warm and safe if you’re in a Place of Weather.

I have pulled my old Selectric out of storage and tried to use it and it doesn’t work, which means I have taken it apart, and I have to say that this is a real eye-opener. It’s extremely easy to work on, like… you do not even need a screwdriver to get the case open if you wanted to oil parts for some reason?

So far what I have done is “make everything worse,” but I feel like I understand what all the pieces do and that’s very cool to me.

It’s also made me realize that I could take this back to Germany with me. The electric motor wouldn’t run properly off 50Hz power, but also, it’s just an electric motor. All it needs to do is spin—it’s not like the timing is particularly important, as I thought it might be.

Mostly what I need is both grease remover and new grease, and I do not know anything about that >.>

Old technology is so cool ;-;
