fixed up the hd and pink zune 4 last night, with some soldering involved! and then had the big chungus 80 gig come in today :3

ive been thinking about getting a zune, i have a 4th gen ipod that i've been using for music at work but it only has a 20gb HDD. most of the reason i wanted it was because i loved the idea of a tiny hard drive to listen to music with, so i feel like a zune would be a nice way to never perceive itunes again

youd be stuck to the zune software if u picked up one (or, well, a weird little MTP sync tool for linux). Rockbox could be a fun avenue to explore if you don't want to mess with iTunes anymore, although I'm personally not the hugest fan of Rockbox's UX.

I'll have to look into it, i saw that there was also a tool for linux that will sync ipods, but i never tested it. Also good point about the flash adapter, but i kinda want to keep a hard drive in it. I actually already replaced the hard drive and the battery on mine lol

also the 4th gen ipods should be relatively easy to open up. you could probably toss in one of those cheapo IDE - CF adapters and drop a 64gb card in pretty easily
