Hi folks, my name is Kevin Veale. I'm a Senior Lecturer in Media Studies and fiction author.

"He/Him." Tangata Tiriti. Pakeha.

I'm into a wide variety of popular culture stuff in lots of different media forms, some of which I write about academically. I reshare stuff that amuses me, post random thoughts or resources, and generally hang out.

Something I'm discovering about my own brain is that I love and appreciate the results of reblog-with-addition conversations, but I can't handle the process by which they're produced.

Both on Tumblr back in the day and on cohost now, if I read a post and then read it again, or read it again but with something small added, my brain checks right the hell out to the point of reflexively closing the tab sometimes.

And when they fork so that things branch into different versions at different points? Nnnope.

I was enjoying some of the "historical examples of cool cohost nonsense" being passed around to bring them to the notice of new users, because I was seeing the end of the conversation. But the process of producing that conversation is Nopeville for me. No idea why, but it is what it is.
