This accurate statement brought to you by, wait for it, "My Secretly Hot Husband," which is an isekai romance fantasy that kind of has the same central conceit as Dune and The Dosadi Experiment, but applied to contemporary capitalism. (I.e., having survived under capitalism makes isekai'd people in the fantasy realm able to be stronger and crueler than demons.)
(I haven't read very far so it's not clear to me yet how this relates to the other part of the premise, which is that the male lead is super hot but thinks he's ugly, so he wears a mask all the time, which makes everyone else think he's ugly.)
