i have always used normal as a slur.
the only other valid use for the word is when you're talking about numbers.

but really, isnt the word normal and uh geometric(?) normals describing basically the same phenomenon? every element has a "normal" (state), and if elements align along some "axes", their normals end up pointing in similar directions... the axis of the normal could be called their goodness... which is intrinsically always 1, because where we point to is where we are heading, and thus it's "good" from our pov.... and whatever goes against that would require us to turn around completely... ok... ill point my brain at something else now..
