i just really think you should - very rough around the edges though it may be, i still think it's a lot of fun being a kid in a cool giant robot, free-flying around, shootin and slashin doods and tossin em around, getting weapon and avoiding whatever damage to the colony you can manage. i had GameFAQs at hand when i played it in case i couldn't figure out how to deal with some of the bosses or get through a certain bit, and lemme tell you that's never a bad idea. it's not the best game of all time or anything, don't get me wrong, it's really got its Rough Patches for sure, but even with the hiccups all along the way it was a good enough time that i feel like my biggest problem is how short it was left me craving more (good thing it has a great sequel, huh?).

also it has a baller as hell trance soundtrack. it goes hard

in reply to @gull's post:

there really is something going from Most Other Mech Games, Past And Future, with their 'weight' and their 'jumping' and all that, to ging to ZOE and its sequel and being able to just fly around so nimbly in every direction. it really is an incredible feeling

I played ZOE 1 and 2 a couple of years ago after having not much context outside of "good mecha games by Kojima" and WoolieVS calling Jehuty the best mecha design in existence

I was blown away by how great both games were and I've replayed ZOE 2 like 3 times, it still remains the best feeling mecha game I've ever played

Plus, just the fact that you get access to the Vector Cannon and Zero Shift, both of which are absolutely fucking insane in the best way possible

i love the Vector Cannon so so much that i bought the revoltech jehuty just to have it. it's not useful in that many situations but hot fucking damn it's so absolutely incredible to use when you get the time and the footholding to land somewhere solid, get your lines down, charge up and let loose. i've always preferred fighting Zakat by landing on his head precisely and aiming the Vector Cannon right at his weak spot, it's so satisfying to rip him apart with it

Oh damn I think I only tried that once, I should give it another try because that sounds sick

Also, the Mars Battle is one of the sickest things I've ever seen, I'm a huge Dynasty Warriors fan and I love huge scale battles, so that mission was like crack to me lol
