I've been playing Guilty Gear Strive on and off for fun and the one time I was able to try with a fight stick I feel like the commands clicked better for me. I like the idea of buying my own, but I have NO idea where to start and I don't want to sink too much money into one since it'll be more a once in a while hobby.

So my question to the larger FGC is: what is a solid but more basic fight stick for a first purchase?

in reply to @LostReach's post:

i have a few questions to help narrow down what hardware is best:

  • what's your expected (rough) budget?
  • what platform do you play on?
  • are you planning on attending locals/tourneys?

optional:

  • are you interested in leverless options or do you want a joystick?
  • do you have any preferences between gates? (if you don't know, skip this)

Good questions!

Budget: $100-$200 if possible.

Platform: PS4

I'm not currently planning to attend matches outside of my living room haha.

I used and enjoyed a joystick style fight stick. I think being able to slap it around helped cut back the level of dexterity I needed to manage haha.

I have no clue what gates are.
