I've been looking at Cricuts and Cricut alternatives to help me with cutting leatherette, thin cloth and paper for making camera leatherette coverings and bellows.

Does anyone have strong opinions on what's out there? Ideally I'd like something relatively compact I can keep in a cupboard when not in use that is also broadly compatible with DXF and SVG files so I can cad up my own designs easily.

Thanks in advance!

My partner and I have a cricut maker and while it is an extremely capable machine, the software is definitely designed to gatekeep what you can and can't do and the sizes you can work it. It could do WAY more than they LET you do. Also, it requires a large amount of space, both from side to side and front to back.

A very powerful tool though.
