For the unfamiliar, Falling Water was a kind of surreal espionage thriller that was kind of like cyberpunk if you replace the internet with the collective unconscious as experienced through dreams, and it shows a strong influence from high concept 90s shows like VR5 and Wild Palms. tl;dr, the story is basically high-stakes corporate espionage in the midst of a race to privatize dreaming. (Probably.)

It had a strong ensemble cast with three leads who each acted mostly independently and experienced the story very differently. (One of the leads was played by the excellent Will Yun Lee who some people may know from Altered Carbon where he played the lead character before he got whitemanified.)

Falling Water was originally created by the guy who made beloved cult spy show Rubicon, which was kind of like "what if Three Days of the Condor moved at a pace so glacial that you could barely tell anything was ever happening." (Also a ton of other shows, he was prolific.) Unfortunately my dude died before the series ever actually made it to air. The first season was helmed by one of his long time collaborators I think, and was excellent and very weird.

Then it just went poof, seemingly cancelled.

Then they brought it back for a second season, but with a new showrunner and one of the vital supporting roles recast with someone who truly could not act. Absolutely worse than just letting it die after the first season. God, it was depressing.
