Context: I used to be an absolutely voracious reader who found listening to music difficult, but a few years ago something flipped in my brain and I could listen to more music, but found reading longform prose to be extremely difficult. One of the reasons I consume a lot of manga now is that it doesn't usually run into this prose barrier for me.
I by and large am not that bitter about this, since I can enjoy music a lot more now and, to be honest, I had already read more than enough books.
