Any recs for good light roast decaf? (I know that visibly light roasting is often a nonstarter due to decaf's characteristics in roasting, but looking for stuff that tastes lightly roasted, no scorch, fruit forward more than chocolate.)

I really enjoyed Hydrangea's roast of Diego Bermudez's El Paraiso decaf. I've tried a couple of alt processed decafs from other roasters but found them to be darker and/or more uneven than my preference.

This is probably one of the most complemented light roast decafs I've seen before - every time one of my ultra light loving weirdo buddies tries it they say it's good

I've enjoyed all of Little Wolf's decaf offerings, and this one is the current iteration. I've not tried it yet, but they've earned enough of my trust to get an untested recommendation

September is probably my favorite roaster, full stop. Their current decaf can hit the funky range occasionally, but sometimes the roast is just right and it's very fruity and balanced with no noticable "decaf" taste. I genuinely can't recommend September highly enough in general, and the decaf is top tier as well

Thanks! I've tried the S&W and found it a pain to brew, but that was early on in my coffee arc, so I should give it another spin.

Ain't Normal had a bunch of September stuff last time I was there, but I forget whether any of it was decaf. I should see if it's still there. I confess to having a bit of pause re: September due to how they guy insists on wearing stuff that says YHWH in all of his youtube videos

It's not not an automatic disqualifier for folks to be religious, and I don't know anything bad about the guy, but sometimes this specific kind of vibe is a red flag since it often points to somewhat edgy variants of Christianity.

Yeah, I happen to come from those edgy variants, basically raised in a cult. It gives me pause as well. I've got access to just chatting with him honestly, he hangs around the same places I do online. I'll think about whether it's worth it to me to bring it up haha
