Hacky solution for making your posts filterable but not (very) discoverable

I'm sure this has been posted previously; decent odds I've posted it previously but forgot about it.

  • Make a post with no tags
  • Repost your untagged post with whatever you want to talk about, and tag the repost
  • Your post will not show up under global search results; however, if someone types https://cohost.org/USER/tagged/TAG into their browser, it will show up there. But they would have to already be looking for your post, not just trolling the hashtag.
  • Muffling and silencing will still work on the tag

Potentially useful if you don't like putting certain things behind a CW but also don't want to put more rando eyes on your posts potentially driving undesired interactions.

that doesn't quite work because the initial post will not be filtered because it is not tagged. only the rebugged post would get filtered in this scenario. you'd need to make the post from a page other than the page people follow you on. the rebug with tags goes to the page people are following you on and is filterable. too many steps and too much confusion for your followers if you ask me.
