this one ("Beneath the Surviving Princess' Joyful Facade") is wild for the fact that the female lead does not speak and is depicted with zero or nearly zero interiority. The POV is the male lead whomst after returning from a successful military campaign is forced by the emperor to marry the emperor's sister who appears to have been horribly abused, does not speak, and seems to essentially live as an untrained pet.
Of course the male lead is like, "damn, my new ward who is incapable of taking care of herself sure is hot" lol. Just, very fucked up premise top to bottom. For the record, so far at least nobody's doing anything that's actually creepy or exploitative, but the vibes, man...
Anyway I assume from the title and previous exposure to related subgenres that we're going to find out that actually she is fully aware and has some kind of long con going on or something of the sort. Not sure I'll actually keep reading to find out.
