The one thing I want a music app or hardware DAP to do is shuffle per album, meaning, play a whole album start to finish, then play a randomly selected other album. (I am an album listener but also someone without enough executive function to make decisions about what I want to listen to.)
This is an extremely niche feature nowadays, although it was pretty standard in the era of CD changers, I think. The use case feels incredibly obvious? But it is as far as I know not available on any streaming service and many dedicated music playing apps also lack it.
Poweramp has it, but to turn it on, you have to set two different things:
- The "Repeat" setting (????) needs to be set to the extremely abstract-sounding "Advance Category"
- The "Shuffle" setting needs to be set to "Shuffle Categories"
(This combination of settings also works on other "categories" such as playlists or folders.)
