Trying the Flo Mask Pro that folks were recommending on here recently. Mask fitment is always a pain for me, and this isn't necessarily an exception. I really wish it were just a bit bigger in all dimensions, especially if I end up having to talk a lot. (My head is decidedly on the large side. (7 3/4 to 8 hat size))

The eyeglasses holdy indent bits are excellent and so far the mask does do a pretty good job of not fogging lenses, although as one might expect, the silicone-to-skin interface is inherently a bit sweatier than just a regular disposable N95. The straps are nice and have good adjustability, and I like that all the pieces seem easily replaceable.

The big question mark for me is how internally well-sealing the mask is. The silicone bit snaps into a plastic frame that holds the actual filter, and it seems like any gap either between the silicone and plastic or around the insert itself would be easily exploited by airflow.

Airflow through the mask is pretty limited due to the smaller surface area of the filter as compared to something like a normal disposable N95. Not sure about half face masks as the filter cartridges seem to have a lot more filter area to them, but it may depend on which mask / which cartridge.

I guess this is a positive re: the seal, at least.

Since I have pretty notable asthma, this is definitely a concern, and would probably rule out this mask for a lot of situations. It's a noticeable issue even when just walking a few blocks. Seated seems okay, but that's not really my use case normally.

Just casually holding up smelly things (hot sauce and tamari were the closest to hand) in front of my face, if smellability is anything to go by, the flo mask pro was pretty bad, 3M V-Flex 9105 was somewhat better, and "Aidway Flat Fold 51-9502G N95 Masks L/XL"1 and my reusable Pacsafe mask seemed to do the best. (Out of the masks I had on hand.)

  1. Seems more like a KN95 in build quality but I don't know shit about masks
