Wild Leaf Menghai Sheng Pu-Erh 2003

Dank fragrance. Liquor is very dark brown, in the coffee-soy sauce spectrum. Earthy and surprisingly drying astringency right out of the gate. Leathery. On subsequent steeps, old paper.

In conclusion, I do not like it. That's great news since it's heinously expensive.

Early 2000s Dry HK Sheng (LP Hookup)

Dry fragrance very sweet / wet aroma pretty dank. Dark red-brown liquor. Black tea sour-bitter with some paper and tobacco.

I also do not like it.

So far out of the puerh I've tried I've been really into, like, just one of them, a "young" sheng. So, I think aged and ripe puerh may indeed not be for me. I will try a few more though.
